*** My love for capturing real moments started during my 6th-Form days, when my parents bought me a Pentax film camera for to study Photography A-Level. I discovered the joy of taking photo’s, and then processing my own prints within the darkroom.

I then started to produce my first films on the school camcorder during Film Studies.

For my first one, I remember being on our local Downs, crouching down in the long grass and filming the sun low in the sky with grass swaying the foreground. I felt enthralled, knowing exactly how I wanted to use this moment in my film creation and what music I would use.

20+ years on.. Gaining a BA Hons in digital media at university, dipping my toe into the real world of TV production, and many wedding films under my belt.. and having my own family to capture along the way. ***

Whenever I film, what grabs me most is human connection. The in-between snippets. Real, raw and fleeting moments that are so easy to miss.

Being a Mum, getting swept up in the fast-pace of family/work life I realise how many moments I could have captured on camera but just haven’t managed. Because we live in the moment every day and it’s not at all Instagram-perfect, but it is real. Sometimes it’s nice to capture just a snippet of this time, encapsulate it and keep to watch it back one day - to share with the kids, or even the grandkids. Because before we know it, we’re onto another chapter of our story.

We all know the saying ‘a photo can tell a thousand words’. Just imagine how a film can bring that moment to life to add to your story. Over and over again.
